I’m studying live entertainment at Valencia College, and I’m happiest when I’m making something: a cut, a light cue, a set that wasn’t there yesterday.
I fell for editing in high school TV, where I was head editor and ran the switcher for live broadcasts. That’s where I saw what a story can do to a room full of people, how it makes them laugh, think or feel a little less alone. Connecting people with art is the most intoxicating feeling I know, and it’s why I keep coming back.
Right now I’m a sponge. I want to soak in everything I can from the people who do this every day, so I’m looking for internships and real production experience, in an edit bay, on a film set, in a broadcast booth or backstage.
Hand me something I’ve never touched and give me an hour. I learn fast, I adapt faster, and I’ll be the one teaching it next week.
